President's Message FOOTBALL CREATES LEADERS!
It’s Super Bowl week! I am excited and ready to check
one of my bucket list items off the list and watch the G.O.A.T. engineer a Super Bowl win! In an interview this week, Robert Kraft owner of the New England Patriots explained how he believes empowering people, encouraging them to take risks, and creating an ego-less culture has helped the Patriots thrive over the years. Plus, a little luck. Culture is the key which is what we heard from Coach Bohannon last week and is true for all of our organizations. Atlanta and Georgia are welcoming the world and lots of people are
involved in making this a great week for over 1 million visitors. Sadly, the
Super Bowl also increases human trafficking and our own Dave McCleary is
working tirelessly with several partners to raise awareness about human
trafficking and reach victims. Well
done, Dave! This week, we welcome the Roswell High School Football Team
who were Region Champions this season and honor one of RHS’ team leaders with the Skipper Hoke Leadership Award! Charles Smith will share his experiences on the football field
and working with students and creating leaders. North Fulton Community Charities activated the warming
center twice last week and it may be activated again this week. We need your help! Please sign up to get the activation email
and help if you can when the center is activated! You do not need any training, just a heart
for service. Ed Klaas, Katha Stuart and I participated in the Point-In-Time
Homeless Count. Over 40 homeless people
were located in one night. NFCC is providing a warm place for these
folks on the coldest nights. Let’s help
care for those less fortunate. Contact
Mike Nielsen if you can help. There are only 5 spots left in the Entrepreneurs Workshop! So far we have raised $5,200 to end polio with this great project! Be sure to thank Hal Coleman and Mike Prewett and to share this opportunity to build a successful business with people you know! It starts Feb. 7! See you Thursday! President Becky This Week's Speaker Charles Smith

Marcus Smith is a New Jersey native, but has been in the south for over 20 years. He earned an undergraduate degree at Clemson University and a doctorate of veterinary medicine at Auburn University. During the first half of Dr Smith's career he practiced critical care medicine at a referral hospital in Marietta. Five years ago Dr. Smith purchased Chattahoochee Animal Clinic in Roswell and has been serving the Roswell community as a general practice veterinary hospital ever since. His veterinary hospital mission is not only to be a leader in veterinary care for the Roswell community, but also to have a positive impact in the local community. His veterinary clinic has had the opportunity to take part in numerous fundraising events for several animal rescues in the Atlanta area. Chattahoochee Animal Clinic has participated yearly in toy drives benefiting local charities and has sponsored local fundraising events, such as Shamrockin for a Cure, which benefits the cystic fibrosis foundation. On the personal side, Dr. Smith is married with 2 young boys. His family is active through the Roswell Rec programs and he has helped coach his oldest in just about every sport. When Dr Smith has any free time...honestly there is no such thing. But what he enjoys in his theoretical downtime is watching college football on the weekend or being out on the lake during the summer. Charity Spotlight
