Roswell Rotary hosted RI President Barry and First Lady Esther Rassin to a full day of events. There are over 33,000 Rotary Clubs in the World. The fact that Barry chose Roswell Rotary as one of the clubs he would visit is a high honor and a tribute to our standing in the world of Rotary.
RRC invited our entire district and our neighboring districts to join us for a day of service and to hear President Barry speak on his vision of how each Rotarian can "Be An Inspiration" to the world.
In the morning, over 100 Interactors from District 6900 participated in Mentor Speed Matching. They then completed a service project to fill boxes of supplies that will be shipped to storm ravaged Puerto Rico. NINE PALLETS of goods were shipped! The work of our youth is an important part of President Barry's vision and he took time to recognize and praise this work.
A lunch followed for all attendees. Following lunch, President Barry spoke to a full auditorium of Interactors, Rotaractors and Rotarians with lots of dignitaries in attendance.
Roswell Mayor Lori Henry read a proclamation by the City declaring February 16th, 2019 as Barry and Esther Rassin Day in Roswell.
The day concluded with a ticketed reception at the home of Past District Governor Bob Hagan with over 150 in attendance. Half of the proceeds from ticket sales went to the End Polio Now campaign of Rotary.
