President's Message
Roswell Rotarians, last week I asked you to get comfortable being uncomfortable — to stop building a room full of echoes and start setting a table wide enough for everyone. This week, I'm asking you to take that same discomfort and point it somewhere new: our Golf, Tennis & Pickleball Tournament on September 14. Here's the truth about the GTP Tournament — it isn't just our biggest party of the year, it's our biggest promise of the year. Every dollar we raise through the 49th Annual Aubrey Greenway Golf Tournament and the 14th Annual Hagan Cup Classic Tennis & Pickleball Tournament goes straight back into the causes that make Roswell Rotary matter — the local charities and Community Impact work that depend on us showing up big, once a year, so they can keep showing up for our neighbors all year long. This event carries the weight of the whole year's giving. That's exactly why it deserves more than our routine. The Ask So here's my ask for the GTP Tournament: do one thing more than you normally do. Not instead of — in addition to. If you always play, this year also sponsor a hole or bring a foursome you've never asked before. If you always sponsor, this year also show up and work a shift. If you've never volunteered tournament day, raise your hand for once. If asking for money makes you squirm, ask anyway — that discomfort is exactly the muscle we're building. Give a little more of your time, or a little more of your talent, or stretch a little further with your ask. That's how we move the needle instead of just watching it. Tournament Tailgate And here's the easy, fun way to start stretching that muscle: come hang out with us at the Tournament Tailgate at Roswell Junction on Sunday, September 13, the night before it all kicks off. If Sunday is normally your family dinner night, just relocate it — bring the whole crew out for football, food, drinks, and fellowship. Who knows, someone in your family might discover their new favorite Sunday evening includes an exclusive bourbon flight. Come see what Strengthening Connections looks like the night before we put it into action. This tournament only works if everyone leans in a little further than they're used to. Let's get uncomfortable together — see you at the Junction on the 13th, and on the course and courts on the 14th. Start praying for Malone to send us good weather! Yours in Service, Leslie |

Board Spotlight 2026-27 Terry Taylor-Presidential Advisor
At the age of 19, Terry Taylor, born and raised in Grosse Point Woods, Michigan, moved to Huntington Beach, California to pursue an education, earning a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and an MBA from Pepperdine University. Having lived in many parts of the country, from the west coast to the mid-west, to the south for various corporate executive positions, in 1997 he moved his young family to Marietta, Georgia, where he began his entrepreneurial career investing in and assuming the role as President of The Tight Line Companies. With almost 50 years of experience in the construction industry, today he is President and CEO of AllSouth Renovations. After raising their three children in East Cobb, Terry and Amy, his wife of 41 years, moved to Roswell, where they built their new home. His passion for faith-based mission work led him to Roswell Rotary, where Jim Coyle introduced him to Rotary in 2012 through his presentation at the RUMC job-networking workshop. After joining the club in March of 2013, he traveled to Honduras with a group of fellow Rotarians for “Lunches for Learning.” This trip was the beginning of the Taylors’ support for this organization, sponsoring a school in this very poor area of the world. They now have three grown children and four grandchildren. Fun fact: While Terry and Amy enjoy traveling the world exploring other cultures, he is also a golfer and an avid fly-fisherman, having fly-fished on 6 continents. |

Volunteers-The Heart of the Tournament
Volunteers – The secret sauce to our day of service and fundraising for charities is our volunteers. Secure your spot now so you know how you’ll contribute…and how you’ll enjoy the fellowship the rest of the day. Volunteering has a not-so-secret side benefit of building relationships (dare I say Strengthening Connections?? ?) with fellow Rotarians! For many Roswell Rotarians, the Golf, Tennis, Pickleball Tournament is the place where they, as a new member, felt most engaged and made the most connections with their fellow club members. Volunteer, make new friends, serve our community-We all win! Sign Up to Volunteer |
Where does the Tournament Money Go?
If you were at the Roswell Rotary meeting when the charity grant checks from the Golf, Tennis, Pickleball tournament were handed out, you remember the energy and the joy from the recipients as they received their checks. Just look at what this club accomplished! How many amazing charities are stronger and able to serve more of our community because of your efforts at the 2025 tournament? This is the WHY of the tournament.
One event with far reaching effects! |

URGENT - Please Help Keep YE Alive for Roswell Rotary
Roswell Rotary Club has a long-standing tradition of supporting Rotary Youth Exchange and the global connections it fosters. This year, we have an urgent need for a host family for our 17‑year‑old student from Vimercate, Italy, who will be entering the 11th grade at Roswell High School. She arrives next week, and while host families are already secured for the fall and winter terms, we are in immediate need of a family to host her for the Spring 2027 semester. We are looking for a caring family willing to open their home and hearts to her for a three‑month hosting period. You do not need to have a high school student of your own to participate, just a willingness to share your family life, offer support, and embrace a meaningful cultural exchange . Families do not have to be in Rotary. If you know of a great family in the Roswell High School district, please approach them about this opportunity! The Rotary Youth Exchange Program thrives because of families who generously welcome students they have never met, creating bonds that last a lifetime. In a world that feels increasingly divided, hosting an exchange student is a powerful way to build understanding, broaden perspectives, and help our young people, and ourselves, see the shared hopes and dreams that connect us across cultures. If you would like to explore this opportunity for global friendship, either for this school year or next, or know a neighbor or friend who would open their home, please contact Alesia Booth, Deb Perkins, or email roswellrotaryye@gmail.com.
