Thank You to Mayor Kurt Wilson for the City Update! Roswell Rotary extends a heartfelt thank you to Mayor Kurt Wilson for taking the time to update us on all the exciting developments happening in our great city. His insights into Roswell’s growth, upcoming projects, and the city’s plans for the future were both enlightening and inspiring. We are grateful for his leadership and dedication to making Roswell a vibrant community for residents and businesses alike. His visit provided us with valuable information and renewed excitement for the future of our city. We look forward to continued collaboration with the Mayor and his team as we work together to make a positive impact in Roswell. Exciting Collaboration: KBeam Reading Project in Partnership with Alpharetta Rotary We are thrilled to announce that Roswell Rotary will soon be learning more about the KBeam Reading Project, a special presidential project in collaboration with Alpharetta Rotary. This innovative initiative is focused on improving literacy and encouraging a lifelong love of reading among young students in our community. The KBeam Reading Project will aim to provide resources, mentoring, and support to help children enhance their reading skills. This collaboration between two Rotary clubs demonstrates the power of teamwork in addressing important community needs, and we’re excited to be part of such a meaningful effort. Stay tuned for more details on how Roswell Rotary will be involved and how you can participate in this impactful project. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of young readers in our area! above Self 770-262-6300 Kibeam Reading for Kids Speaker David CochranAlpharettaRrotary member David Cochran is a familiar face at our Roswell Rotary lunches. We are thrilled to have him speak to us this week about a very innovative reading program for kids- Kibeam. David Cochran is a third generation Atlantan whose father, a WWII Navy veteran, grew up in the Lakewood area. David himself grew up in East Atlanta and the South DeKalb area. David graduated from Southwest DeKalb High School and attended the University of Georgia, Georgia Tech and Georgia State, earning a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the J. Mack Robinson School of Business and an Executive Development Program Certificate from United Technologies, Corp. David’s career began in the time where companies moved people for promotions and raises. David moved with his wife Sherri, nine times in 10 years before coming home to GA to raise their family. Sherri and David moved into a Roswell Home with an Alpharetta Address across from Rivermont Country Club before moving to their current Alpharetta home with a Milton address. David and Sherri have three children, Jodi, Grant and Kelli, son-in-law Ryan Briel and two grandchildren, Rosemary and Ridge. Date Changed- Jan. 24 Holiday Dinner at American Legion Post 201-Volunteers needed
On Friday January 24, 2025 (Note Date Change) , Roswell Rotary is hosting the Christmas Dinner for the Veterans of the American Legion Post 201 and the Alpharetta VFW at the American Legion Post 201 located at:
201 Wills Road Alpharetta, Ga. 30009 The dinner is to be held at 6 pm. This is an annual sit-down dinner event for our Veterans. Roswell Rotary will be providing the dinner, and the Rotary Club of North Fulton will be providing the desserts. Rick Silver, who is a Mentalist, will be providing a dynamic entertainment show for the Veterans that will be no less than spectacular and fun! We are looking for 5 people for set up and break down and at least 10plus servers. As we will be serving the Veterans in their seats. We will need to set up an assembly line of food plate preparers and then hand them off to the servers who will physically serve the Veterans. They will also clear the plates when completed.
