President's Message

Roswell Rotarians, this week's message starts with gratitude — the kind that reminds me exactly why I love this club. Last week, we got a call for help that came from an unexpected place: a Rotarian all the way up in Ann Arbor, Michigan, who knew of a single mother right here in Roswell moving into her new apartment after experiencing homelessness. She needed hands, and our club didn't hesitate. On Saturday, our members showed up and carried boxes up and down those stairs until she was home. To everyone who gave up part of their Saturday for a neighbor they'd never met: thank you. This is Rotary. This is what we do — we come together the moment there's a need in our community, no matter how far the call for help traveled to reach us. See Video

That same spirit is exactly what we need to carry into the next two weeks, because we are less than two weeks away from the Golf, Tennis & Pickleball Tournament on September 14. This is our organized community outreach at its biggest and most direct — real dollars raised on the course and the courts that go straight to supporting the missions of more than 25 community organizations right here in Roswell. I'm grateful beyond words for every member sponsoring, volunteering, playing, and recruiting to make this day happen. It takes all of us.

Here's how we amplify that outreach this week: at our meeting, we'll be selling ball drop tickets to support the GTP Tournament, so come ready to buy in and to help others do the same. And we've got a speaker this week who will give us a view of our nation's finances from Washington itself — U.S. Treasurer Brandon Beach joins us to update the club from his vantage point in the Treasury.

From a Saturday move-in to a Sunday tournament countdown, this is the same club showing up in different ways — for one neighbor, and for twenty-five organizations who depend on us. Let's keep it going.

Yours in Service,

Leslie

Brandon Beach, the 46th Treasurer of the United States, to Speak September 3, 2026

Join us on September 3, 2026, as Brandon Beach, the 46th Treasurer of the United States, shares insights on economic leadership and fiscal responsibility. In his role as Treasurer, he provides leadership and oversight for the U.S. Mint, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, Fort Knox, and the Office of Tribal and Native Affairs, while also serving as a senior advisor to the Secretary of the Treasury, Scott Bessent.

Appointed by President Trump in May 2025, Treasurer Beach brings more than a decade of legislative experience to the position. From 2013 to 2025, he represented Georgia’s 21st District in the State Senate, where he chaired the Senate Committee on Economic Development and Tourism. During his time in the legislature, he also served as an ex-officio member of the Committees on Higher Education, Reapportionment and Redistricting, and Transportation, and held seats on the Appropriations, Finance, Rules, and Assignments Committees. He is a former member of the Alpharetta City Council, the Alpharetta Planning and Zoning Commission, and former President and CEO of the North Fulton Chamber of Commerce. [read more]

Where does the Tournament Money Go?

If you were at the Roswell Rotary meeting when the charity grant checks from the Golf, Tennis, Pickleball tournament were handed out, you remember the energy and the joy from the recipients as they received their checks. Just look at what this club accomplished! How many amazing charities are stronger and able to serve more of our community because of your efforts at the 2025 tournament?

This is the WHY of the tournament.

One event with far reaching effects!

Thank You Tennis & Pickleball Sponsors

Thank You Golf Tournament Sponsors

Volunteers-The Heart of the Tournament

Volunteers – The secret sauce to our day of service and fundraising for charities is our volunteers. Secure your spot now so you know how you’ll contribute…and how you’ll enjoy the fellowship the rest of the day. Volunteering has a not-so-secret side benefit of building relationships (dare I say Strengthening Connections?? ?) with fellow Rotarians!

For many Roswell Rotarians, the Golf, Tennis, Pickleball Tournament is the place where they, as a new member, felt most engaged and made the most connections with their fellow club members. Volunteer, make new friends, serve our community-We all win!
