FAMILY OF ROTARY
Our membership cares deeply about the needs and concerns of our members. We don’t want to miss an opportunity to reach out in friendship when such concerns arise. The chairperson of this committee is Lynn Dunn and all news should be directed to her at firstname.lastname@example.org
It is exciting to be back to living up to the idea that Rotarians are People of Action! The Learning Lab project should get concrete footings this week and the container can arrive shortly after that. Once the container is in place we will organize some volunteer work days. So wrap up your honey-do lists at home and get ready to put service above self by working on the learning lab in the near future.
Thursday, June 11 | 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM
Lunch At Lucky's
Rain or shine, Lucky's will open up the Dog House for our group and the club is buying the burgers. If you aren't comfortable being with others just yet, order a meal for take out instead. We look forward to seeing you there!
Thursday, June 18 | 12:15 - 1:15 PM | Holiday Inn
Meeting In Real Life
Roswell Rotary Club has a new home at the Holiday Inn until our weekly meetings can resume at Roswell Area Park in August. We will do a trial run for our June 18th meeting to wrap up this Rotary year. The plan is to have all of our July meetings at the Holiday Inn as we return to a more typical Rotary lunch and program. The Holiday Inn is behind the Olive Garden at 909 Holcomb Bridge Rd, Roswell, GA 30076.
Supporting PE Lynne Lindsay
Lisa Carlisle put a 3 part challenge out to the district last week. The challenge included registering for the District Celebration, reaching out to your club president to check-in and encouraging your PE as they get ready to step into the leadership role. The last of these is the most important, especially for our PE Lynne Lindsay. Not only is the start to the year in flux because of COVID-19 (finding a temporary meeting location, changing the installation party, how to pull off a fundraiser, etc...) her husband Skip was rushed to the hospital this weekend and is waiting for surgery for appendicitis. Over the next several weeks you would normally see the PE taking an increasingly visible role, but Lynne will need to keep her distance as Skip recovers. Don't let her lack of attendance fool you, she is still working hard behind the scenes to make sure we have another great year for Roswell Rotary.
Honoring Gary Waddell
Long time Roswell Rotarian, Gary Waddell passed away Friday, June 5, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. A small, private service will take place at Roswell Funeral Home on Sunday, June 14, at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Reinhardt College where he and Brenda graduated and Gary was appointed board member emeritus. Please keep the Waddell family in your thoughts and prayers.
Wednesday, June 17 | 6:30 - 8:30 PM
Past President's Dinner
It is an annual tradition for the past presidents of our club to get together and break bread towards the end of the Rotary year. We will continue that tradition with a dinner at Houck's on Wednesday, June 17 from 6:30 - 8:30PM. If you are a past president of our club, please RSVP with your menu selection. CLICK HERE TO RSVP or reach out to Alicia with your menu selection.
