FAMILY OF ROTARY

Our membership cares deeply about the needs and concerns of our members. We don’t want to miss an opportunity to reach out in friendship when such concerns arise. The chairperson of this committee is Lynn Dunn and all news should be directed to her at lynn.dunn@rmcpa.com

President's Message

Spring is in the Air!

Congratulations Heavy Hitter Hal for winning the coveted award!  Your hard work and dedication to doing good for the community is appreciated.

Spring is defiantly in the air.  Dogwoods, azaleas, The Masters, and of course Rotary District Conference aka "spring break for adults".  If you haven't already made plans, come down and join in the fun at the beach as we celebrate the Rotary year and have a great time with like minded Rotarians from all over the state, please do so today!

Program for April 14
Interact Club Program Update- Michael Schoppenhorst

This week's program is the Spring Update on Roswell Rotary sponsored Interact clubs. Members from the clubs will present what they've been doing this year , what they still hope to complete for this year and just all the service projects that they've been involved with!  We welcome Roswell High School, Blessed Trinity,  Independence , Elkins Middle School,  Crabapple Middle, Roswell North Elementary, Mountain Park Elementary, and Sweet Apple Elementary. This exciting meeting always gives our members such a ray of hope for our leadership of tomorrow.  See you there!

If you can't be 'in person' for lunch
Zoomit, Maskit or Live - Join Us Thursday from Where Ever You Are

We now have multiple “zoom cameras”, so you won’t miss a minute of the action. Join us from where ever you are!

There are times that travel or business obligations challenge your ability to attend our lunch meetings. Our speakers’ messages, Terry’s stories and messages, event updates, announcements and awards. Happy dollars and Hal’s raffle comments.

It’s not that you have to attend all of our meetings. It’s that you want to. And now you can.

Enjoy everything about our meetings except for the fried chicken.  Attend all meetings virtually thanks to Bob Clarkson and team who provide the camera work and audio so that you can connect via Zoom for some or all of the week’s meeting.

New Member Induction

New Member Induction

Oh, what a night! 16 After Hours members were officially inducted into Roswell Rotary on Tuesday evening! District Governor Mary Ligon and President Terry Taylor led our ceremony and pinning after we took the special oath promising to put “Service Above Self.” We are all so honored and excited to be a part of Roswell Rotary and can’t wait to see where this journey takes us. Thank you to everyone who attended to wish us well!

Check out some clips from the event here: https://youtu.be/bepPDpBiQG8

After the induction, we took some time to fill Easter eggs with candy. The eggs will be donated to a local charity. Stayed tuned for our next service project—we have some exciting things in the works!

 Next Meeting

Our next meeting will be held at 6:30 on Tuesday, April 19 at the usual spot, The Artillery Room @ Gate City. All are welcome!

Business Networking Rotary-Style continues on Tue, Apr 19th from 6:30 - 8:00pm
Smarter Business Development because it's with Fellow Rotarians (Multi-Club Event)

This is an opportunity for you or someone on your staff, or someone you are interested in recruiting to Roswell Rotary:

Our last gathering again drew a crowd from the Atlanta Metro, Dunwoody, Peachtree City, Roswell, Sandy Springs and Tucker clubs. While it had similarities to other networking events, you knew that attendees honored the integrity of the 4 Way Test!

This is why Paul Harris formed Rotary for 1905. Professionals with diverse

backgrounds could exchange ideas, form meaningful, lifelong friendships, and conduct business together. Paul Harris was networking well before the term “networking” was used to describe connecting people in order to build a business network.

While Rotary is about "Service Above Self," there is a growing place for networking in Rotary, particularly for those responsible for generating revenue.

Location:     5 Minutes inside 285 and Ashford-Dunwoody Rd

             Marlow's Tavern
             Brookleigh Market Place
3575 Durden Dr NE #301, Atlanta, GA 30319

Please plan to join us on Tue, Apr 19th  from 6:30 - 8:00pm.

For more information, please contact Hal Schlenger HSchlenger@GreatSouthBenefits.com | (770-335-0077), or Johnathan Clark of the Tucker Club (johnathanmclark@gmail.com | 404.512.6058).

Sat, May 7, 8:30 - 10:00am: Licensed Prof'l counselor and AASECT Certified Sex Therapist of Fit Mind Counseling Aleksandra Rakita-Jeremic will talk
Community Hike: Walk (and talk) with a Doc

"Not Much" is the too-common answer to 'what will get your out on the house on a Saturday morning."

So here are multiple reasons:

  1. This is a celebration and check-in for  how you are doing with your doctor's advice to do something physical.  We're not judging; we supportive.
  2. Our guest speaker will be Aleksandra Rakita-Jeremic, MS, Licensed Professional Counselor of Fit Mind Counseling will share ideas to get of over "I don't want to or like to exercise."
  3. 100 reasons why you should go for a walk

If you want to look like President Terry and the many other svelte Rotarians, this is what the doctor ordered.  :-)

Our walk will be at the Hyde Farm park trail,. A great trail along and crossing a quiet creek, along with one hill to challenge you a bit. Fascinating history viewing old farm buildings.

726 Hyde Rd, Marietta, GA 30068 <> https://www.atlantatrails.com/hiking-trails/johnson-ferry-trail/

Note: Our January walk will be Sat, Jun 4 at 8:30am
