President Nancy's Message

Roswell Rotary Celebrates Halloween with International Flair and Spooky Fun

A big thank you to Kaho for sharing her fascinating stories about her home in Japan during our Halloween meeting. It was a delight to learn more about the culture, traditions, and experiences that shape her background.

We also extend our gratitude to Jonathan Crooks for his chilling ghost story talk that kept us all on the edge of our seats! His storytelling added the perfect spooky touch to our Halloween festivities.

Finally, a huge shoutout to everyone who got into the spirit by dressing up and joining the Thriller dance! Your creativity and enthusiasm made this year’s Halloween meeting one to remember.

Thank you all for making it such a fun and festive event!

Roswell Rotary on the Road: Chattahoochee Nature Center Service Project

This Thursday, Roswell Rotary will hit the road for a special meeting at the Chattahoochee Nature Center on Willeo Road, to celebrate the visit of District Governor Gordon Owens. We will be announcing the net profit from our golf and tennis tournament, as well as. working together to help set a peace pole and build ADA-accessible picnic tables for the newly designated Roswell Rotary Rest Area at CNC, a peaceful space that will soon feature these tables for visitors of all abilities to enjoy.

This project is a proud continuation of our commitment to making our community more inclusive, and we’re excited to partner with CNC because of a $5000 District competitive grant and contributions from Technipower, thanks to Technipower CEO & Past RRC President Jeff McCoy & COO Dan LaStrella, on such an important initiative. Be sure to join us and wear your bunny shirt as we roll up our sleeves and make a lasting impact!

Let’s show DG Gordon the power of Roswell Rotary in action!

Nov 7 Meeting at Chattahoochee Nature Center

RRAH - Next Meeting is Today, November 5th!

After Hours is pleased welcome back Sue Carpenter! Sue Carpenter is Vice President, Corporate Philanthropy & Major Donors for Visiting Nurse Health System. The non-profit organization was founded in 1948 on the belief that everyone deserves fair and equal access to healthcare. Visiting Nurse is the safety-net for low-income patients and provides charitable care with the help of our philanthropic community. Together, they deliver nearly 9,000 charitable care visits each year throughout Metro Atlanta and 57 counties they serve in Georgia. However, with the growth of Georgia's aging population and an underserved community, the need for support has never been greater. There are opportunities to give of your time, talents, and treasures including preparing care packages for seniors, serving at our family bereavement camp, honoring Veterans, connecting them with your company giving, serving as a Healthcare Champion, and making individual contributions. To learn more about their mission contact sue.carpenter@vnhs.org.

This meeting After Hours will be creating Senior Citizen Baskets for Sue to bring to patients at Visiting Nurse. If you would like to participate, here is a link with what is needed for the baskets. Please write your name & quanity of items you will be bringing to this meeting.

Our next meeting is today, November 5th, located at the Artillery Room at Gate City at 6:30 pm.

Free CPR & AED Training Classes-sign Up Today

I know you have heard about recent incidents where residents in our area have had a heart attack on the tennis court or the pickleball court or in the gym and someone knew how to perform CPR and/or use the AED to save their life until First Responders could arrive. Every second counts and you may be the difference between life and death. Our goal is to train 1,000 residents to perform CPR and to operate the AED. Classes are free and through the generosity of WellStar North Fulton, the training location is super convenient! Please sign up for one of these first training sessions to be held on Nov 16. Just one hour of your time and you could give the greatest gift of all- a life.
