RR After Hours - Beer Festival Benefitting STAR House

STAR House Foundation is a local Roswell non-profit which provides after-school tutoring and mentoring for at-risk children throughout North Fulton County. They currently serve children within three North Fulton schools, with a growing unmet need. Their summer camp is an extension of the after-school program, bridging the gap for elementary students by focusing on academic retention to combat summer learning loss. Providing this strong foundation gives local kids in need the opportunity to shoot for the stars.

For 9 years STAR House's major fundraiser has been a Beer Festival on the Roswell Square. Many of those years Roswell Rotary has sponsored a tent for the festival. Roswell Rotarians have served on the board of STAR House and were part of the group which began this organization. Since STAR House's beginning, they have been one of the major recipients of charity funds raised in the Roswell Rotary Charity Golf & Tennis Tournaments.

This winter the Roswell Rotary After Hours Club made STAR House a recipient of their support in several ways.

  • February 7th - STAR House Executive Director Stephanie Christiansen was the feature speaker at RRAH's regular meeting.
  • February 21st - Fat Tuesday - RRAH had a Mardi Gras party (and regular meeting) at HOLA! Taqueria & Bar. Laughs were had and King Cake was enjoyed. The best part of the evening was collecting treats to donate to STAR House's Snack Drive.
  • March 3 - RRAH turned out in masse and volunteered as pourers at the Beer Festival dispensing tasty brews to the supporters of this great cause.
