End Human Trafficking - Police Training Seminar

January is also known as Human Trafficking Awareness Month. The Roswell Rotary Club along with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Roswell Police Department sponsored an important day of training for local police agencies at the Roswell-Alpharetta Public Safety Training Center. Almost 20 North Fulton and Forsyth County law enforcement members attended training led by Past Roswell Rotary President Dave McCleary. Several Roswell and Alpharetta Rotarians were in attendance and Roswell Rotary and local vendors supplied breakfast and lunch for the trainees.

Dave McCleary has been leading Rotary’s fight against Human Trafficking for over 10 years since he became aware of this problem at the Passion 2012 Conference held in Atlanta. It was there he felt the first sparks of desire to get involved. He learned that it’s not only happening worldwide in impoverished, third world countries, but in his own hometown community and other communities across the U.S. Now Chair Emeritus of the Rotary Against Group Against Slavery, Dave has spoken to Rotary Clubs and led training seminars extensively, causing change in Roswell, Atlanta, the US, and even around the world.
