Lunches For Learning

Lunches for Learning is a nonprofit organization that provides a healthy lunch to school children every school day in Honduras. The passion of one Rotarian in 2004 has resulted in over 2,500 children being served daily through Lunches for Learning. Initially L4L served 8 small schools. L4L now serves 46 schools.

Covid took a toll on education in Honduras. This school year began in February, the second after schools reopened following Covid. Across the country school enrollment declined post-pandemic. Food costs are 22% higher this year than pre-pandemic.

Again this year, Roswell Rotary is supporting the Escuela 3 de Octubre school with core lunch program supplies and food for students. Two Roswell Rotary Club members serve on the L4L board as do two former club members. Several Roswell Rotarians also independently support their own schools with contributions.

On Saturday, February 11th local supporters of L4L gathered for a Hearts For Honduras benefit party at the The Rooftop in the Crabapple area of Milton. This was our 9th year Roswell Rotarians and other community supporters sponsored this sold out event. All proceeds were donated to Lunches for Learning.
