On World Polio Day, Roswell Rotary hosted its Third Annual World Polio Day Corn Hole Tournament at Lucky's Burgers and Brew!, bringing together 100 members, friends, kids and the community for a fun-filled evening of competition and fundraising. The event aimed to raise awareness and funds for RI's End Polio Now campaign, continuing our club's commitment to eradicating polio worldwide. Over 50 participants formed teams and competed in a friendly, single-elimination cornhole tournament with an exciting prize for the first place finishers. Lucky's provided delicious food and drinks, adding to the lively atmosphere. The event was a success, raising funds for the global fight against polio while offering a great opportunity for fellowship. Our energizer bunny was prominently displayed as well as our Rotarians at work signs.
RRC also hosted an outdoor move premiere night of MethGator which starred one of our Rotary members, Bruce peoples, and was hosted at Gate City Brewing. Donation signs were placed at each table and Roswell Rotarians engaged the customers in discussions about polio and encouraged them to donate through a QR code. It was a fun way to introduce this younger crowd to the polio topic as most of them knew very little about polio, but had young children which captured their attention.
Together we are one step closer to ending polio forever.
The event was totally funded by donations from corporate sponsors and individuals. No money was used from RRC operating budget.
