The Roswell Arts Festival celebrated 59 years! This festival was originally started by Joan Hilliard, the wife of longtime Roswell Rotarian Maurice Hilliard.
Roswell Rotarians supported the event financially as well as civically. Rotarians sponsored and supported the community art project for the year in which community members and artists collaborated on a large mural that will be displayed in Roswell City Hall for the next year.
This event also provided an opportunity to tell people about Roswell Rotary to grow membership and led to many meaningful conversations and several invitations to lunch at both future Roswell Rotary events and Roswell Rotary After Hours events.
An additional benefit of this event is that it allows Roswell Rotary to accumulate hours working with the City of Roswell, as required in the MOU between the two parties. Meeting this hurdle helps ensure that the City, which owns the facility where the Club hosts weekly meetings, is justified in discounting the rate it charges for Club utilization.
