The Sunshine Division of Rotary Leadership Institute has so many opportunities coming up for your club members and club leadership to enhance the experience of Rotary for any Rotarian or Rotaractor.  Here is a list of upcoming in-person events in Georgia:

  2. November 19, 2022 in Kennesaw (District 6900)
  3. January 14, 2023 in Thomasville (District 6900)

Additional dates will be added in Spring 2023 for all Parts as well as stand-alone graduate courses.

What is RLI? RLI stands for Rotary Leadership Institute. The Rotary Leadership Institute is a multi-district, grassroots leadership development program of member districts organized into regional divisions in various parts of the world. It is not an official program of Rotary International and is not under its control. Every Rotarian can benefit from RLI.  The idea-sharing and facilitated discussion platform is unmatched by any other program designed to increase a member’s Rotary knowledge.

RLI believes strongly in the facilitation of discussion method of teaching. It has been proven that facilitation of discussion is the most effective way to educate adult learners.  RLI also believes strongly in small class sizes, between 8 and 20; 15 is ideal. This leads to more effective participation by all attendees.  Our trainers are called facilitators or Discussion Leaders. Techniques used by our Discussion Leaders include discussion groups, role-playing, problem solving workshops, creating projects, and audiovisual presentations. Everyone participates during the sessions. A student guide workbook, containing the course material is provided to each attendee.

Registration for each live, in-person course is just $100. This fee includes breakfast, lunch, course material, and lots of Rotary fellowship, making this a good investment in your club’s future. Also, it is an honor and benefit of membership to your future leaders and tells them the present club leaders have faith in them. While these courses are great for leadership, they are also valuable to front line members! Rotarians and Rotaractors can learn more about how Rotary works and how they can be more effective.

RLI-SD courses are also offered online in 1- to 2-hour sessions. Each session is $15 payable by credit card only. The course schedule for in-person and online sessions can be found at www.rlitraining.org

RLI Part 1 focuses on The Rotarian and provides invaluable information about The Object of Rotary, The Four-Way Test, The Rotary Foundation, and all the opportunities for service and fellowship beyond your club.  Part 2 focuses on The Rotary Club and the multitude of ways you can make your club more successful and more impactful.  Part 3 is about The Rotary Journey and takes a deep dive into the history of Rotary, leadership strategies, and international service.  After completing Parts 1, 2, and 3 RLI offers graduate courses in The Foundation, Transforming Your Club, Public Speaking, Membership, and Facilitation Techniques.  There are even more graduate courses in the works right now, so stayed tuned!

See you soon – online or in person!
