FAMILY OF ROTARY

Our membership cares deeply about the needs and concerns of our members. We don’t want to miss an opportunity to reach out in friendship when such concerns arise. The chairperson of this committee is Lynne Lindsey and all news should be directed to her at lynnehlindsay@outlook.com

President Nancy's Message

President’s Message: A Year of Hard Work, Service and Celebration!

I am beyond proud and honored to serve as President of the District 6900 Club of the Year!

Sharing this title with our friends at Peachtree City makes it even sweeter — but make no mistake, Roswell Rotary earned this with a full year of heart, hustle, and service! We worked hard all year, and I cannot thank you enough for helping bring my vision for service to life. Every project, every event, and every act of service made a real difference. You should wear your Bunny Shirt with pride — it’s a symbol of the incredible spirit you bring to everything we do.

And speaking of celebration — a HUGE shoutout to Gordon Owens for hosting an unforgettable District Conference at Jekyll Island! I could not have been prouder of the fun, energy, and camaraderie Roswell Rotary brought to every single event. People from all across the district were talking about the energy radiating from Roswell — we lit up the conference! Thank you to everyone who made the trip, and an extra special thanks to Peter Saddler for stepping in for Chris Archer and doing an absolutely outstanding job leading our hospitality team. You represented us beautifully!

And another huge shout-out for Becky Stone. She took on the herculean project of organizing the tailgate at the district conference. From dealing with logistics that changed then changed again, to providing and setting up the games, and making sure it was a spectacular event, Becky was a winner! Check out the games at our meeting this week.

Also, a big thank you to Hal Schlenger for lining up the speaker last week and to Past President Lynne Lindsey for running a seamless, high-energy meeting. It’s all about teamwork, and Roswell Rotary shows how it’s done!

Thank you again Roswell Rotary. I’m so proud of what we’ve accomplished — and I am proud to have been able to serve alongside you.  Let’s keep the momentum rolling and let’s finish the year strong!

This week at Roswell Rotary

We have even more to celebrate! This week, we’ll hear from Marie, our amazing GRSP student, and recognize our talented Laws of Life winners. Both programs show how deeply Roswell Rotary invests in our future leaders.

Laws of Life Essay Winners

On May 1, 2025, the meeting of the Rotary Club of Roswell will include acknowledgment of the accomplishments of several local students who participated in the Georgia Rotary Laws of Life Contest, a character values and ethical literacy outreach program to high school students in our state.

The Rotary Club of Roswell is pleased to recognize the following students from Independence High School who have been named School Winners and Grade Level Honorable Mentions in the 2024-2025 Georgia Laws of Life Essay Contest.

  • Daniela Hernandez, grade 12 and School Winner
  • Jamie Vinalay-Cruiz, grade 10 Honorable Mention
  • Jacquline Rojas, grade 12 Honorable Mention

These students, presented by their sponsoring teacher Ms. Kerry Shorr, will share their essays describing one of their Laws of Life, a statement of belief that has become a foundation for their futures.

First Timers at District Conference

The first timers killed it at District Conference! Helping with the tailgate, buying beer when we got low in the hospitality Suite, carrying boxes, dancing, mixing Hagan-ade, driving over to buy ice when we got low, and MVP Peter Saddler who was a last minute sub for Chris Archer and manned the hospitality suite! No rest for the bartender! So many thanks to Alan Greensmith, Gabriel Prado, William Lindsey , Jonathan Crooks, Deb Perkins, and Peter Saddler.

Betty Price- Award winner GRSP Service

Congratulations to Betty Price. 2025 Frank E. Bentley Leadership Award (GRSP Service)

Every need is unique, and Giving Grace is there to meet people where they are. Now it’s our turn to give back!
