Your 2025-026 Golf & Tennis Committee ChairsHistory 47th Aubrey Greenway Golf TournamentSeeing a need for a community fundraiser, Roswell Rotarians Frank Brown, Judge Maurice Hilliard and former Mayor of Roswell Aubrey Greenway began a golf tournament in 1978. The first tournament, raised $3500 for charities in the North Fulton community. While the tournament initially started as a Rotary event, it has grown into one of the largest 100% volunteer community fundraisers . Today, the golf & tennis tournaments continue to support charities in North Fulton and generate close to $200,000 a year. The tournament attracts large and small business sponsors and individuals in North Fulton looking to make a difference in the areas in which they live and do business. The tournament was named after Aubrey Greenway, after his death in 1991. Aubrey was a dedicated local businessman, civil servant and Roswell Rotarian. Thanks Aubrey! Join over 200 golfers on the beautiful and challenging Country Club of Roswell course for the Annual Aubrey Greenway Golf Tournament. 2 flights of golfers will take to the links for bragging rights and a chance at some special prizes. And be sure to stop by the 19th for refreshments. Past President ,Past District Governor Cheryl Greenway will be there with a big smile and a cold one for you! Hagan Cup HistoryThe Hagan Cup was established in 2013 to help raise additional funds for the charities that Roswell Rotary Club supports in North Fulton County. Rotarian Theo Keyserling came up with the idea of a tennis tournament to support our golf tournament and approached then president Jacque Digieso who along with the board supported the idea. Roswell Rotary thought there would not be a better way to honor long time Rotarian and district governor Bob Hagan than to call the tourney the Hagan Cup Classic . As Bob was an active tennis player and community activist for year,. it was a natural fit . Theo approached many local businesses for seed money and was able to raise $25k to start the tournament . A large tennis trophy (the current Hagan Cup in the above picture) was created and taken around to local businesses and even Roswell City Hall as they were fundraising. All even enjoyed a sip of Haganade-a special cocktail with District Governor Hagan's favorite spirits and it was a wonderful aide for raising funds .Note: Haganade is still enjoyed today at many Roswell Rotary events! The Hagan Cup Classic honors Bob Hagan's service to the community and his deep commitment to Rotary's motto of Service Above Self. The tournament has expanded to two sessions, both morning and afternoon, and continues to raise over $50k annually with over 75 players. First Look at TournamentThe Registration Desk is the First impression for our tournament attendees. The goal of this high energy registration team is to welcome everyone with big smiles and enthusiasm and kick off their day by making every donor feel special for their contributions for our charities. It's a full day of fun and raising money for the charities of Roswell, North GA and across continents. The Roswell Rotary is hosting our 47th Tournament this year. Our volunteers are onsite at 5 am setting up for the day. You will experience first class treatment from check in, special games on the holes to lunch all while interacting and networking with business leaders from the metro area. Golf has two rounds, one shotgun start in the am and one right after lunch. There are several games, charitable opportunities and beverages offered throughout the golf course. The Hagan Cup Tennis Tournament is a blast, bring a partner or we will pair you up with one. Come try to win the esteemed Hagan Cup. And be sure to grab a glass of Haganade! We are adding a Pickleball Tournament this year in memory of Trummie Lee Patrick, Jr. Bring your skills and win the title of the first ever, annual Roswell Rotary Pickleball Tournament. The Registration Team is excited to greet you and get your tournament experience started with joy and appreciation for your service to our community. See you on Sept. 8th. Volunteers Make the Tournament RunPast President Nancy Alterman is the Committee Chair for 2025 G&T Tournament Volunteers. As this Energizer Bunny will tell you, nothing is more rewarding than volunteering for the G&T Tournament! You will meet people, have fun socializing with the players, sponsors, and your fellow Rotarians, and you will also build relationships on a deeper and entirely different level! You might be the person who saves the day by running to buy more beer when we get low. Or the volunteer carrying bags of ice to coolers to make sure everyone is hydrated on the course. You could be part of the team hanging up banners and prepping for the event. Or one of the very important take down team who sticks to it and helps to put everything away for next year even though you are worn out and exhausted from a full day. There is something for everyone, so please look over this sign up genius and volunteer for a slot (or more). Click here for Sign Up Genius QR code to volunteer No limit! Every dollar you donate goes to support these and other causes in our community Trummie Lee & Team Knock Installation Out of the ParkJust WOW! What a wonderful night at the installation party of Roswell Rotary Club's 75th President-Trummie Lee Patrick III. Bob Clarkson, you made things happen for sure. Food was great and we kept the bar tender very busy. Courtney Lott and Katie Tucker, the flowers and decor were top notch and the whistles were "a thing!" And the music was excellent. Many thanks to the extremely talented Sam & Savannah. And the presidential message. No words- from the heart, inspiring and moving. This quote was especially heartfelt, "Everyone I'm looking at out here, this club does it. I don't, and I want to talk about what we can accomplish.” Make sure you are at the July 10th meeting where President Trummie Lee will address the Club and kick us off for the 2025-26 75th presidential year. We have a lot of rewarding work ahead of us as a club and a leader who is going to challenge us to accomplish great things for RRC and our community.
