Message from President Trummie Lee
Dear Fellow Roswell Rotarians, It is an incredible honor to welcome you to the 75th anniversary year of our amazing club. As we step into this milestone, I’m filled with both gratitude and excitement to serve as your President. We are standing on the shoulders of those who built this club over the past seven and a half decades — and now it’s our turn to carry that legacy forward with fresh energy and a bold vision. As Wayne Dyer wisely said, “When we change the way we look at things, the things we look at change.” That’s exactly what this year is about — honoring our traditions while embracing a new perspective on how we serve, celebrate, and grow together. A Milestone Year with a Fresh Approach
This is a special year, and we’re going to make it count. We’ll keep the great traditions you know and love, but we’re also adding some exciting new twists: - Adding Pickleball to our Hagan Cup Classic which along with our Golf Tournament will still be held the Monday after Labor Day but moving to Country Club of Roswell. Our goal is to raise $300,000 this year for the causes we support, and I believe together, we can do it.
- Social Event Additions This December 13th, we’ll gather for a festive Holiday Party at Roswell Junction, and in March 2026, we’ll celebrate our club’s 75th Anniversary with a party worthy of the history we’re honoring.
- Deeper Dive for Polio –
- In Roswell-Around Polio Day/month, get ready to toss some bags in our Cornhole Tournament—but this year join Gordon’s Roswell brew-pub crawl right after the meeting where we just heard from our city’s best breweries. We will have our tournament at Gate City and Variant.
- Athens & Mercedes-Benz-We’re taking our polio awareness efforts on the road! On October 4th, we’re teaming up with clubs across Georgia for a Polio Tailgate in Athens during the UGA vs. UK game. If all goes well, we’ll follow it up with a second tailgate at Mercedes-Benz Stadium for UGA vs. Georgia Tech on November 29th.
- Expanding to TWO events: 9-11 Cookout and a First Responder Family Event In addition to our special 9-11 Cookout held near that date each year, for 2025, we’re also showing extra appreciation to our local first responders with a family cookout just for them on October 12th. We asked the police and fire chiefs what else we could do to boost morale, and this was their answer. It’s a chance for these everyday heroes and their families to connect and recharge — and we’re proud to host it.
- More Backpack Projects-Backpacks for local students kick off our year of service. We’re expanding that effort this fall by using our Community Grant to help homeless veterans, equipping them with backpacks full of essentials and dignity.
Honoring Local Heroes All Year Long This year’s theme is about recognizing the first responders and everyday heroes who serve our community with courage and humility. District Governor Steve Ivory challenged us to lift up those who serve quietly and consistently — and we’re answering that call. Each month, we’ll recognize one hero from the many police officers, firefighters, EMTs, teachers, military service members, and veterans who have served our city and made a special impact. It’s a small gesture that speaks volumes — and it embodies the very heart of Rotary. Our Focus: Membership. Fundraising. Service. As we step boldly into our 75th year, our mission is focused and clear: - Membership – Let’s grow by bringing new voices and fresh perspectives to the table.
- Fundraising – Let’s be bold and creative in raising the resources needed to make a big impact.
- Community Service – Let’s lead with heart, humility, and hands ready to work.
Special Recognition: To commemorate our 75th year, we’ve created special edition lapel pins and anniversary charms. Every member who participates in a service project, makes a financial contribution, or sponsors a new member will receive one. It’s a token of appreciation — and a symbol of our shared commitment to service. Thank you for placing your trust in me during this historic moment. I’m inspired by each of you, and I can’t wait to see what we accomplish together. Here’s to the next 75 years — let’s make them count. Just scan the QR code below to purchase supplies and support a local student. Let’s come together and make a difference — one backpack at a time! Volunteer Opportunity Be a meeting Visitor Ambassador
Just like we have volunteers for the Pledge of Allegiance and the Four-Way Test at our weekly meetings, we need volunteers to greet our visitors and make sure they are introduced around and settled in at a table with someone to introduce them. Sometimes they are visiting from another club, some have seen a social media post and are walking in for the first time. And some are coming with a Roswell Rotarian who has invited them for lunch. The most important thing is that we need volunteers to make our guests feel welcome and to show how inviting our club is. Just use this link or QR code to sign up for a meeting. Just WOW! What a wonderful night at the installation party of Roswell Rotary Club's 75th President-Trummie Lee Patrick III. Bob Clarkson, you made things happen for sure. Food was great and we kept the bar tender very busy. Courtney Lott and Katie Tucker, the flowers and decor were top notch and the whistles were "a thing!" And the music was excellent. Many thanks to the extremely talented Sam & Savannah. And the presidential message. No words- from the heart, inspiring and moving. This quote was especially heartfelt, "Everyone I'm looking at out here, this club does it. I don't, and I want to talk about what we can accomplish.” Make sure you are at the July 10th meeting where President Trummie Lee will address the Club and kick us off for the 2025-26 75th presidential year. We have a lot of rewarding work ahead of us as a club and a leader who is going to challenge us to accomplish great things for RRC and our community. Click here to view Google Photos page from party
