Serving those who keep us save, Roswell Rotary hosted a Drive Thru Cookout for local law enforcement, fire and rescue and 911 officers. The event was held at Fire Station Number 4 with over 200 burgers and dogs served. Food was donated by Slopes BBQ, King of Pops Popsicles, Lucky's Burgers, and Rhodes Bakery. Sign a Rama contributed the beautiful banner saluting and honoring the officers. 200 shirts were distributed with the Rotary logo which read "We've got your back". We received extensive press coverage in The Neighbor Newspaper, including multiple photos.
While this was a program initially intended to serve the officers during COVID, there was so much community support and bonding, it will become an annual event.
Roswell Rotary served over 200 burgers and dogs at its first Drive Thru Cookout on September 19. Hosted at Fire Station #4 in Roswell, local law enforcement, fire and rescue, 911 dispatchers and first responders drove through in firetrucks and police cars to pick up packed meals that also included cookies courtesy of Rhodes Bakery and King of Pop Popsicles. Many stayed to visit.
First responders also received a tee shirt with the Rotary Wheel and “Roswell Rotary has your back” printed on the back. It was a great day serving those who keep us safe.
