Roswell has persevered with our blood drives, aware that 2 out of 3 individuals cannot donate due to medical reasons. With only 4% of the general population donating blood, Roswell has transformed our donation program from merely raising awareness to establishing a consistent schedule throughout the year. This change has led to a 600% annual increase in donations, from 29 pints in 2019 to 180 pints in 2024. The success is partly due to Variant Brewing's "Pint for a Pint" promotion, Coastal Grill's provision of meeting room space, and the American Red Cross's management of blood collection.
Roswell Rotary collaborates with the American Red Cross to organize a quarterly blood drive. The event takes place at various venues that offer space free of charge to our club. In return, each donor receives a complimentary pint of beer, courtesy of Variant Brewing and/or Coastal.
These drives, open to the public and managed by the American Red Cross, attract donors from both Roswell Rotary Membership and the wider community. On average, each drive collects between 40-60 pints of blood and blood products.
