FAMILY OF ROTARY

Our membership cares deeply about the needs and concerns of our members. We don’t want to miss an opportunity to reach out in friendship when such concerns arise. The chairperson of this committee is Lynne Lindsey and all news should be directed to her at lynnehlindsay@outlook.com

President Nancy's Message

**Join Us for Hollywood Squares - Roswell Rotary Style!**

We are excited to invite you to our upcoming meeting where we’ll play Hollywood Squares to learn more about our Club and its initiatives! Some of you might be too young to remember this game show so here’s your chance to experience it.  This interactive and fun session is designed to help new and seasoned members alike get acquainted with our projects, goals, and the impact we strive to make.

Additionally, we have a fantastic opportunity for you to earn your Bunny Shirt by participating in our first service project of the year: Packing backpacks for Huskies Helping Huskies. This initiative supports students in need, ensuring they have the necessary supplies to start the school year.  Don’t miss out on this chance to get involved, have fun, and make a difference.

Be there or be square!

Your Old Sneakers can have New Life

Another opportunity to be of Service!  Recycle Sneaker is a movement to collect and upcycle gently worn sneakers while helping to raise money for various schools, charities, and organizations. The project also aims to reduce our carbon footprint by keeping sneakers out of landfills where they can take 30-40 years to decompose.

New member, Sam Lane is heading this up and can be reached for placement & collection of boxes at 678-545-5471.

Miss Mary's Ice Cream Cranker for the Drake House August 25

Make the ice cream that everyone looks forward to! The Drake House has invited Roswell Rotary to participate in their 20th Anniversary of Miss Mary’s Ice Cream Crankin'.  Each team of 5-10 volunteers will serve the ice cream their team makes.  North Fulton & Alpharetta Rotary are already committed to the event. With your help, we can win Best Vanilla, Chocolate, Fruit, or "Best Other" flavor. In addition to Ice Cream, there will be many children's activities, including a bounce house, face painting and a kids' contest. The event is Drake House’s main fundraiser to alleviate homelessness for mothers with children!

For those interested in joining the team, contact Mary Trapp, 770-645-1320.
For those interested in purchasing individual tickets and / or sponsoring the event, please go to: https://secure.givelively.org/event/drake-house-inc/20th-annual-miss-mary-s-ice-cream-crankin

New Member Spotlight: Sam Lane

Hi, my name is Sam Lane. I've lived, worked, and played in this amazing community for 24 years, and I am ready to begin a new venture of service. I am currently employed at Jarvis Tree Experts as an arborist. I found my way into arboriculture after high school, and have never looked back. Last year I obtained my credentials as a certified arborist and continue to learn more about trees every day. My passions include anything outdoors; I am a big sportsman and regularly partake in hunting and fishing excursions -- really, anything outside will keep me happy.  I am eager and ready to help with anything and everything.
