What an incredible evening it was for the 50 Veterans who attended. They were treated to a delicious dinner from Lucia's Italian Restaurant of Chicken Parmesan, Penna Pasta, Garlic Rolls and Salad. All provided by Roswell Rotary and augmented by the most delicious cheesecakes by Tina Clark, wife of President Rick Clark of the North Fulton Rotary Club. Our President Nancy Alterman augmented the desserts by adding in a wonderful assortment of cookies.
The program included Georgia state Senator, and Roswell Rotarian, John Albers delivering the best retelling of the story of the History of the Flag I've ever seen along with a wonderfully heartfelt story of his family's service over the years that he constantly strives to live up to.
Mentalist Rick Silver amazed the crowd with his indescribable talent that left the gathering speechless.
We had a wonderful gathering of Roswell Rotarians to serve the Veterans last night that included and was led by President Nancy Alterman, Jim Savage, Fredrick Levy, Elwyn Gaissert, Lynn Dunn, Dave McCleary, Roger Wise (who led the Pledge), William Brown (in attendance), Jenna Enstrom (soon to be a Roswell Rotarian), Ron Cowen and yours truly.
Also, in attendance were PDG Jim Squire and ADG Joy Manbeck
The Veterans were beyond thankful for what we provided, which simply warms the heart that we could do so for all they have done for us. It was truly service last night and I for one was proud to play a small role in it.
