The Roswell High School (RHS) Construction Program has educated nearly 500 students and is the only construction education program in North Fulton. RRC is committed to helping fill the skilled trade gap and provide students with career-ready training.
Roswell Rotarians have served on the Advisory Board and been a key link to the industry. Construction students have been hired by Roswell Rotarians demonstrating to students and parents that construction is a great career path.
Feeder programs have been established at both Roswell middle schools with over 270 students in the programs and through Toolbox, a construction club for 4th and 5th graders. By offering an unbroken K-12 pipeline, we can keep at-risk students engaged in school, expose interested students to careers in construction, offer a plan of success for all of them, and give students unprecedented upward economic mobility. This K-12 model, supported by RRC at every grade level, is viewed as a state of the art program throughout Georgia which helped lead to significant grant funding.
The Construction Education Foundation of Georgia has announced a three-year, $5.7 million commitment from the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, the Home Depot Foundation, and the Marcus Foundation to address the skills gap in the construction trades.
More than 40 Roswell Rotarians are actively involved in construction education in Roswell providing vocational expertise in the classroom for our youth. This year many volunteers conducted resume reviews and mock interviews for students seeking jobs in the trades.
