Peace Pole installation and ADA accessible picnic table build at CNC RRC Rest Stop

During DG Gordon's visit to RRC on 11/7, we took our regularly scheduled meeting on the road to the Chattahoochee Nature Center. The entire meeting including our famous fried chicken unch was available to all members and it also showed flexibility by doing a service project during the meeting so all could participate and earn a service bunny shirt.

The RRC in partnership with CNC, completed an impactful service project by building 6 ADA-accessible picnic tables. The project was funded through a $5000 District Competitive grant, along with additional support from a local business Technipower, whose generous donation helped bring the vision to life.  Each table proudly displays a commemorative plate with the RRC name, signifying the club's commitment to inclusivity and community service.

As part of the visit, the club also placed our second Peace Pole in the newly named "Roswell Rotary Rest Stop", an area that serves as both a peaceful rest space and an educational site for students. The Peace Pole features messages of peace in multiple languages such as English, French, Korean, Spanish, and Cherokee. This highlights Rotary's dedication to fostering peace and unity.

Earlier in the year, the first Peace Pole of DG Gordon's term was installed in the CNC Butterfly garden, symbolizing the start of a meaningful initiative to promote peace throughout the community.  With the addition of the Peace Pole in the "Roswell Rotary Rest Stop" a QR code on the sign allows visitors to learn more about Rotary and their service in the community and the world.  The rest stop is also located and named on the visitors maps given to all who enter, so we are very visible and this helps the space stand as a reminder of Rotary's mission and commitment to enhancing public spaces for all to enjoy.
