Create Lasting Impact through CPR Training

Rotary Club of North Fulton is passionate about reducing deaths from sudden cardiac arrest, and we invite other Rotary clubs in District 6900 to bring this life-saving initiative to their own communities.

Our commitment to this cause began two years ago when one of our club members suffered a cardiac arrest while playing pickleball. His life was saved because bystanders immediately recognized the emergency, began CPR, and used an automated external defibrillator (AED) while waiting for paramedics to arrive. That experience showed us firsthand how ordinary people, equipped with the right training, can make the difference between life and death.

Inspired by his story, Rotary Club of North Fulton launched a community CPR/AED training program. Through free, 75-minute classes, we have already trained more than 1,300 community members in these essential life-saving skills.

Now, thanks to a $5,000 grant from Wellstar Health System, we have the opportunity to expand this program throughout District 6900. We are offering to train one or two members from your club to become certified American Red Cross CPR instructors. The instructor certification requires approximately 8–10 hours of training, and our grant will cover the $350–$500 certification cost.

Your club's only expense would be the cost of the basic CPR course, typically $25–$80. We will provide ongoing support, and even introductions to local fire departments to help you successfully launch the program in your community.

By investing just a few hours each year, your club can empower community members with the skills and confidence to save a life. For further information or questions, please reach out to Marc Gelber, (770) 856-9509, marc@gelbers.com.
