North Fulton Raises the Roof with Habitat for Humanity!

The Rotary Club of North Fulton has been proud to roll up our sleeves in support of Habitat for Humanity of North Central Georgia, participating in two service days that reminded us of the difference a safe, affordable home can make for a family.

Our first day of service took place on August 15, when members tackled landscaping work at a home nearing completion. The Georgia summer heat was out in full force, but our hardworking Rotarians persevered, helping put the finishing touches on a home soon to welcome its new owners.

On October 3, our members returned for a very different stage of homebuilding — the beginning! The day kicked off with a First Nail Ceremony, marking the official start of construction on a new home. Our volunteers jumped right into framing, helping lay the groundwork for what will soon become a special place for one deserving family.

But perhaps the most meaningful part of our Habitat experience happened away from the construction site. Thanks to our fellow Rotarian Amie Blanton, who works with Habitat for Humanity of North Central Georgia, we had the wonderful opportunity to welcome the future homeowners to one of our lunch meetings.

Hearing their story brought an entirely new perspective to our volunteer efforts. This family of four currently lives in a one-bedroom apartment and is eagerly anticipating the day they can move into their new three-bedroom home. Their excitement, enthusiasm, and gratitude were truly heartwarming and reminded us that we're doing much more than landscaping yards and raising walls — we're helping families build a better future.

A special thank-you to Amie for arranging this meaningful visit, to Habitat for Humanity of North Central Georgia for the incredible work they do in our community, and to all our Rotarians who gave their time and energy to these service projects.

This is Rotary at its best — coming together, lending a hand, and making a lasting difference, one home and one family at a time!
