The 19th Christmas Tour of Homes is the annual fundraiser for our club and a much anticipated event in the community. The December 2015 tour included 3 residences and two businesses beautifully decorated for Christmas by their owners. Something special and different on this tour was a local senior assisted living facility. All of the common areas of the facility were elaborated decorated for Christmas. Many of the residents opened their doors to visitors to show off their decorations.
Tickets were sold for $10 in advance and $15 the day of the tour. The day before the tour, our club collaborated with one of the businesses on the tour to sponsor a pancake breakfast. The business provided the food and our club provided the paper products, beverages, and labor. Tickets were $5/each and participant's names were entered into a drawing for a gift basket from The Chicken House gift shop as well as two Tour of Homes tickets for the next day. People were encouraged to wear an ugly Christmas sweater to the event. There were approximately 35 people in attendance.
