Our Rotary Club sponsors the LaGrange College Rotaract, the Troup High School Interact and the West Georgia Community Interact Clubs. These clubs are platforms for students to learn about Rotary, increase their leadership skills and be involved in service projects at both the local and international arenas.
The LaGrange College Rotaract Club is presently thriving and growing in membership this year. Club members recently participated in the Walter Murphy's Scholarship celebration in November, worked with leaders from Diverse Power and work on joint ventures with Interact and Rotary members. Rotarian Mark Davis is the club's advisor.
The Troup High School Interact Club is as active as ever. The club members just completed another successful blood drive, which is their major service project. Teacher Janet Ward is the club's advisor.
The West Georgia Community Interact Club has the advantage of being able to accept teenage students from any of the area public, private and home schools. The club's major focus is split between raising funds for RI's Polio Campaign and supporting seniors in two of our local residential homes. Rotarian Barbara Henigin is the club's advisor and is also the Rotary contact for the Troup Interact Club. Henigin is also the Interact Chair for District 6900.
All three of our student clubs are involved directly with our Rotary Club through various activities and service projects.
