Provide after school mentoring & educational materials for children in need of personal development STAR House Foundation is a non-profit organization in Roswell, Georgia that makes a difference in kids’ lives by providing an after school tutoring and mentoring program for at-risk children. These children are at risk for reasons such as dropping out of school due to academic troubles, disengagement, pressures from peers, family stressors, language barriers and inability to access necessary resources. STAR House provides a safe place where students can connect to peers and adult teachers/mentors. In addition to providing funding of $11,000 during the year, Roswell Rotarians volunteered to assist with homework, school projects, test preparation, and good study habits. Further, they mentored students in making good life choices that will help them succeed.
