VIVA LA ROTARY Casino Night

The Viva La Rotary Casino Night is a joint fundraising event for the Rotary Club of Pelham and the Rotary Club of Camilla held annually in the historic Hand Trading Company building in Pelham. Each year members from both clubs meet for several months to make plans and prepare accordingly.

Viva La Rotary is an exciting night of casino action with good friends, good food and good music. Attendance has continued to grow throughout the past few years as it has become an event many look forward to attending.

Local businesses sponsor the event at different levels including High Roller, Jackpot, Royal Flush and Full House. Funds raised through these sponsorships, as well as through admission for attendees and silent auction items, is split between both Rotary Clubs. Both Rotary Clubs then take half of those proceeds and donate them to a local organization, such as the Mitchell Baker Service Center in 2015, which is a day service program in our area that serves over 100 adults with developmental disabilities.

The event continues to grow each year, gaining more sponsorships (36) and attendees (250+). It is a great way for Pelham and Camilla Rotarians to interact with one another while working together to benefit others in the community. Generally a minimum of $2,500 is raised for each club, with at least $5,000 going to the local organization chosen for that year.

Plans are to continue Viva La Rotary as a joint fundraiser for the Pelham and Camilla Rotary Clubs.
