In light of rising outstanding lunch balances at our area schools and the reduction and temporary loss in snap benefits, Roswell Rotarians put together a drive to raise money to stock the pantries and provide assistance to students in need. As proven time and time again, when students are hungry they can't focus on their education. Roswell Rotary provided funds and gift cards to the schools to ensure that students have access to healthy food.
This was facilitated at several of our area schools with need identification either already being in place or identified by the school counseling staff.

The excitement persists at the Alive in Roswell Street Festival, with Rotarians and guests converging at the Roswell Rotary Tent on Canton Street. This event takes place on the third Thursday of each month April - October. Rotarians Hal Schlenger and Walt Burnotes man the grill while rotarians and guests gather to eat and drink. The event emphasizes the camaraderie among Rotarians as they gather to unwind, savor the moment, and foster closer relationships. This is also an excellent event for community outreach and serves as the first introduction for many future-rotarians.
Roswell Rotary collected, packaged, and distributed 100 boxes for deployed Naval personnel for the Holidays. Items collected included: Jerky, granola, candy, deodorant, toothbrushes and toothpaste, notepads, pens, envelopes, coffee, hand sanitizer, wipes, powdered drinks, socks, gum, batteries, lotion, sunscreen, and more!
In addition to the supplies, Roswell Interact clubs contributed letters to the service members to thank them for their service and wish them happy holidays.
Roswell Rotary Club provided materials and packed 42 backpacks full of school supplies in support of Huskies Helping Huskies. These backpacks are provided to targeted students in need at Crabapple Middle School. Over 40 Roswell Rotarians assisted in the collection and packing of these supplies.
On Thursday November 20 Roswell Rotary hosted our New Member Social. This is a great time for the new Rotarians to get engaged with Board Members.
Roswell Rotary also simultaneously completed a service project funded by a district grant including the packing of 50 backpacks for homeless area veterans as identified by a local partner. These bags included a backpack, hygiene supplies, a warming blanket, socks, water bottles, and several other useful items to support them during this cold weather season.

The Roswell Arts Festival celebrated 59 years! This festival was originally started by Joan Hilliard, the wife of longtime Roswell Rotarian Maurice Hilliard.
Roswell Rotarians supported the event financially as well as civically. Rotarians sponsored and supported the community art project for the year in which community members and artists collaborated on a large mural that will be displayed in Roswell City Hall for the next year.
This event also provided an opportunity to tell people about Roswell Rotary to grow membership and led to many meaningful conversations and several invitations to lunch at both future Roswell Rotary events and Roswell Rotary After Hours events.
An additional benefit of this event is that it allows Roswell Rotary to accumulate hours working with the City of Roswell, as required in the MOU between the two parties. Meeting this hurdle helps ensure that the City, which owns the facility where the Club hosts weekly meetings, is justified in discounting the rate it charges for Club utilization.
Roswell Rotary continues to install peace poles within the community. The most recent, and first for the Rotary Year '25-'26 was installed at Roswell High School in conjunction with their Interact program.
Peace Poles are installed as beacons of hope, inspiring people to come together and work towards a more peaceful world.
TRUMMIES EXCERPT:
“This was the most notable and incredible event that I have ever been to for first responders!" said Roswell Fire Chief Troche. Roswell Rotary’s Hero Project Family Farm Day for First Responders, was inspired by DG Steve Ivory’s challenge to honor local heroes. After meeting with Police Chief Conroy and Fire Chief Troche, the club learned morale and family connection were critical needs following the line-of-duty death of a Roswell Police Officer. The club hosted more than 200 first responders and Rotarians at Golden Grass Farms for a day of appreciation and family connection. Children built and painted over 100 birdhouses, funded through a $3,500 District Grant and $2,324 in club support. 75 Rotarians contributed over 332 volunteer hours, providing activities and nearly all food. The event restored moral, strengthened families, demonstrated strong stewardship, and elevated Rotary’s image. The 1st responders only feedback: "Please set the date for next year's Family Farm Day 2026!"

We turn laughter into support for those who need it most. This year,
we’re proud to partner with Giving Grace, a local Atlanta organization
dedicated to helping families with everything from child care assistance and
rent support to securing housing for those experiencing homelessness. Every
need is unique, and Giving Grace is there to meet people where they are. Now
it’s our turn to give back.
The total funds raised of $4,000 were turned over to Giving Grace in support of their mission to relieve families in need. The in-kind donation was the waive of rental fee for the space utilized for the event.
