Our club is pleased to welcome Kelvin King as our speaker for the May 14th meeting. King, who is running for Georgia Secretary of State in the 2026 elections, brings a background that includes military service, business leadership, and community involvement. He has stated that his campaign is driven by a belief that “it’s about restoring trust in a system that should be the gold standard of this representative republic.”
Born in Macon and raised in Mableton, King grew up in a single‑parent household after his mother, Janet, made the difficult decision to leave an abusive marriage while still a teenager. King often credits the values instilled by his mother and grandmother with guiding him through early challenges and opening the door to future opportunities. Those values helped him earn an appointment to the United States Air Force Academy, where he was an All‑Conference football player.
After graduating from the Academy, King served five years in the U.S. Air Force as a Contracting Officer, attaining the rank of Captain. When his military service concluded, he returned to Georgia and transitioned into the private sector, working in procurement and business development. He later became General Manager of an international construction firm, earning recognition including ENR Magazine’s Top 20 Under 40 and his company’s Manager of the Year award.
With several years of experience and savings set aside, King founded Osprey Management, a construction firm that has twice been named the fastest‑growing business by the Atlanta Business Chronicle.
King and his wife, Janelle, are active in Georgia’s civic and political landscape. Janelle serves as a panelist and commentator on Fox 5 Atlanta’s The Georgia Gang, and together they founded Speak Georgia, a 501(c)(3) organization focused on community education and access to subject‑matter experts. The two of them have been entrenched in Georgia politics as leading conservative activists and are passionate about spreading the Republican message throughout the minority community. The Kings are members of the Church of the Apostles and enjoy hosting cookouts with friends. King is also a proud father to Christian King, a fellow Air Force veteran, and father‑in‑law to Christian’s wife, Tiffanni.
We look forward to hearing Kelvin King share insights from his experiences in military service, business leadership, and community engagement.
