President's Message

Roswell Rotarians, last week I asked you to get comfortable being uncomfortable — to stop building a room full of echoes and start setting a table wide enough for everyone. This week, I'm asking you to take that same discomfort and point it somewhere new: our Golf, Tennis & Pickleball Tournament on September 14.

Here's the truth about the GTP Tournament — it isn't just our biggest party of the year, it's our biggest promise of the year. Every dollar we raise through the 49th Annual Aubrey Greenway Golf Tournament and the 14th Annual Hagan Cup Classic Tennis & Pickleball Tournament goes straight back into the causes that make Roswell Rotary matter — the local charities and Community Impact work that depend on us showing up big, once a year, so they can keep showing up for our neighbors all year long. This event carries the weight of the whole year's giving. That's exactly why it deserves more than our routine.

The Ask

So here's my ask for the GTP Tournament: do one thing more than you normally do. Not instead of — in addition to. If you always play, this year also sponsor a hole or bring a foursome you've never asked before. If you always sponsor, this year also show up and work a shift. If you've never volunteered tournament day, raise your hand for once. If asking for money makes you squirm, ask anyway — that discomfort is exactly the muscle we're building. Give a little more of your time, or a little more of your talent, or stretch a little further with your ask. That's how we move the needle instead of just watching it.

Tournament Tailgate

And here's the easy, fun way to start stretching that muscle: come hang out with us at the Tournament Tailgate at Roswell Junction on Sunday, September 13, the night before it all kicks off. If Sunday is normally your family dinner night, just relocate it — bring the whole crew out for football, food, drinks, and fellowship. Who knows, someone in your family might discover their new favorite Sunday evening includes an exclusive bourbon flight. Come see what Strengthening Connections looks like the night before we put it into action.

This tournament only works if everyone leans in a little further than they're used to. Let's get uncomfortable together — see you at the Junction on the 13th, and on the course and courts on the 14th. Start praying for Malone to send us good weather!

Yours in Service,

Leslie
