Honor Air ~ Veterans to Visit War Memorials

The Roswell Rotary Club was able to continue their 11th Honor Air, a day-long trip to Washington, D.C., to honor veterans, was scheduled for Wednesday, Apr. 9. This year’s trip honored 80 World War II, Korea, and Vietnam veterans.
We departed Roswell at 6 a.m. and traveled to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport for the day-long, round-trip flight to the nation’s capital and back on a chartered aircraft.
While in Washington, veterans visited the World War II, Korean, Vietnam, and Lincoln memorials. The day concluded at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery to see the Changing of the Guard ceremony. During their Washington visit, the group was escorted by the National Park Police.
There was no cost to veterans who made the trip. Guardians who travel with individual veterans covered their expenses, which are $45 per person.
