PCMS vs Rotary quiz bowl challenge

We are looking for 5 volunteers to represent the Rotary Club of Dunwoody in a friendly competition against the Peachtree Charter Middle School (PCMS) Quizbowl team. The competition includes questions about history, literature, math and pop culture. Rotary Club of Dunwoody won last year in a very close competition.

Rotary members Tom Lashway and John Mills have been assisting PCMS teacher Ms. Shannon McCartha with practice this year.

Please contact Tom Lashway (tomlashway@gmail.com) if you would like to be a member of the Rotary team for this competition and help defend the title.

GRSP Leadership weekend a success

GRSP Students

International Director Louise Barden with the help of her very able husband Ron Bardin organized an outstanding GRSP Leadership weekend. 38 of this year's 45 GRSP students visited Dunwoody to participate in the three day leadership program, which was sponsored by the following Clubs:

Atlanta Rotaract Club - Brookhaven - Buckhead - Decatur - Dunwoody - Nortn Atlanta - GRSP Organization
Of course they also had the help of ~ 25 of our fellow Club members.

Friday' sessions included the visit to the Center for Civil and Human Right, a presentation on Leadership by Billy Grogan, as well as fun filled afternoon at the Escape Room in Buckhead. The following eight Rotarians attended at at least one of these activities:

Dunwoody Diners Next Meeting 2/3

Dunwoody Diners will gather at Carbonara Trattoria on February 3rd between 5:00 and 5:15 for dinner from the menu with separate checks. The owner is very supportive of Rotary!

Carbonara is the lovely Italian restaurant right across the parking lot from the Dunwoody post office.

After dinner we will go to Stage Door Players to see the classic, Picnic, which will start at ~7:45.

To be sure you are not left out, plan to send your check or cash for your theater tickets to either Ken Levy (kenlevy99@gmail.com ) or Dottie Toney (toneydot@me.com) , or give it to one of them at next Friday’s meeting—No later!

The tickets are going quickly, so contact Ken or Dottie now to reserve your ticket!
