When we serve others together, we build relationships with those we serve and with our Roswell Rotary family. John Carruth and his “contestants” did a great job of introducing us to many areas of service at Roswell Rotary last week and the Directory contains even more (don’t forget to pick up your copy)! So pick one or two projects and jump in…I promise you will get more than you give.
This Thursday, Roswell Rotary will honor Roswell’s First Responders with an Appreciation Luncheon. Our Roswell First Responders are there for all us when we need them most. These brave men and women literally put their lives on the line every day to keep our community safe. These jobs are physically and mentally taxing -- for them and for their families -- and it is important for them to know that we appreciate their service to Roswell. We are also blessed to have two outstanding Chiefs who care about Roswell and these men and women.
Chief Rusty Grant and Chief Ricky Burnette will update us on their departments. Mayor Lori Henry will also share a few words recognizing the service of these brave men and women. Roger Wise and Michael Gould have designed and prepared a beautiful, one-of-a-kind Certificate of Recognition for all of Roswell’s First Responders thanking them for their service to the Roswell community. We anticipate that more than 80 of our police officers and fire personnel will join us and be personally presented with their certificates. Roswell Rotary has a long history of honoring our First Responders and we will continue that great tradition. THIS WEEK’S MEETING IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO PERSONALLY THANK EACH OF THESE MEN AND WOMEN FOR THE INCREDIBLE SERVICE THEY PROVIDE TO OUR COMMUNITY.
Please join me in honoring our First Responders on Thursday!
