Without a foundation we cannot do or build anything in life. Think about how important it is to build a foundation for your education, your family, your ethics, your career. This month, we celebrated one of the clubs at the foundation of our district - as the Rotary Club of Americus celebrated its 100th anniversary. As I visited many of our clubs, I saw the enthusiasm and service that is at core of Rotary. And, I participated in two very special events where we celebrated and recommitted ourselves to the fight against Plus, a late September Polio Symposium sponsored by the E-Rotary Club of Emory-Clifton, and a World Polio Day event at the CDC.

We Rotarians want to help others in our community and around the world. We do not mind working hard, but we also need funding, money to reach and help those in need. Would it not be terrible if we saw a need, knew exactly how to get it accomplished…..but lacked funding/money? That's where power of The Rotary Foundation comes into play - standing ready to help us make a difference in our communities and the world with the Annual Fund, Endowment Fund and Polio Plus.

In Racing we start with a great chassis, then add suspension, engine and drive train. We make the body aerodynamic…..are we ready to go Racing? The answer is we still need a Pit Crew, a Crew Chief and a Driver…..are we ready now? Not quite. Reality says we still need funding, a sponsor, and money to race and finish the season. In the same way, The Rotary Foundation needs your donations, pledges and gifts to carry out the hundreds and thousands of local and global service projects we do each and every year to help those who need it most.

So put on a new set of Race Tires now and Donate to the Rotary Foundation.

November is Rotary Foundation Month. Watch for a program in your club that highlights what The Rotary Foundation can do - and how you can help. Check with your Foundation Chair to see where you are in your Foundation giving. Think about sharing your “Foundation Moments” about projects your club did with District and Global Grants. And read in this newsletter about a fabulous opportunity to take part in a National Immunization Day in India, as we continue our efforts to eradicate Polio.

And join “Smokey and the Rotary Bandit” for District Conference April 25-28, 2019 - where we'll tell more of The Rotary Foundation story and have a lot of fun! Read more about the District Conference right here in our newsletter - and take the time to register now. at( www.rotary6900.org). Let’s go West Bound and Down to Sandestin

Thanks for all you do.
