Roswell Announces Barbara M. and Donald L. Thomas Peace Award

The Rotary Club of Roswell administers the Barbara M. and Donald L. Thomas Peace Award - a $1500 annual award to a GRSP student who exhibits the spirit of GRSP and who is in need of financial assistance.The benefactors, Don and Barbara Thomas, were always strong supporters of GRSP. Through the years they helped entertain the Roswell Rotary Club’s GRSP students and financially supported GRSP as Will Watt Fellows, Hue Thomas Fellows and Kendall-Weisiger Fellows.In 2001, Don and Barbara donated a substantial amount to establish the Barbara M and Donald L Thomas Peace Award so that each year a deserving GRSP student would receive a generous award.

This year’s Thomas Peace Award recipient is Adaobi Princess Nwofor. She exemplifies the Rotary motto of Service Above Self through her determination and desire to promote peace throughout the world by sharing her Nigerian culture with others and has a demonstrated need for financial assistance. She is exactly the type of student that Barbara and Don would want to receive the award! As President of the Rotary Club of Roswell, I am honored to present the Thomas Peace Award to Princess. Congratulations!
