The Rotary Club of Dunwoody is the International Partner with the Les Cayes Club of Haiti in this $209,000 global grant for the installation of a C-arm in Immaculate Conception Hospital in Les Cayes. The Rotary Clubs of Stone Mountain, Alpharetta, Griffin, North Atlanta, Sandy Springs and Dawson joined Dunwoody and several clubs and districts in Florida and the southeastern United States to make this project possible.
Jessie Legros and Louise Barden, International Director, of the Rotary Club of Dunwoody visited several Rotary projects in Les Cayes, Haiti in June. Rosa and Robert Leger, District Governor 2017-2018, hosted the visitors and arranged an informative visit with the key staff at Immaculate Conception Hospital where the C-arm imaging will be installed in September. Orthopedic surgeons will use the C-arm to intensity imaging during orthopedic and trauma surgery. Thanks to Rotary support this device will provide more successful outcomes for the many victims of accidents resulting from poor road and driving condition, overloaded motorcycles taxis and “tap tap” trucks.
"We feel confident that the Les Cayes Rotary Club will continue to shepherd this grant and that the hospital staff is committed to keeping records and maintains the equipment," says Louise. "This grant would not be possible without your help. Thank you for making a difference."
